Terms of use

These terms apply when you use the POVE iPhone app, POVE App Clip, invitation routes and related service features. By using POVE, you agree to follow these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service or submit content to an Event.

POVE is an app-first service. The public website explains the product and provides invitation, support and legal routes; it does not create browser Events, capture browser photos or provide a public Event gallery.

You may use POVE only if you can lawfully accept these terms and your use is permitted where you are. If you act for another person or organization, you confirm that you have authority to do so.

If you are responsible for a young person, allow them to use POVE only when you have determined that the Event, photo sharing and applicable permissions are appropriate and lawful. These terms do not create a universal numeric age rule.

A Host creates an Event and chooses its roll, Reveal and invitation settings. Participants contribute their own perspectives. The Host can reveal the Memory, begin removing Event photos, restrict a participant’s Event access, and request deletion of an Event they own.

A participant can report and hide a photo and can request deletion of their own participation and contributions. A participant does not gain Host control merely by receiving or using an invitation.

A Host signs in with Apple to create an Event. Guests can join an invited Event without creating an account and may choose an Event display name. Each Event has a selected Guest capacity; sharing an invitation beyond that capacity does not increase it.

The five-Guest Event option is free. Larger capacities are separate consumable App Store purchases, each redeemable for one Event. POVE does not offer a subscription. The App Store shows the applicable localized price before purchase, and Apple processes payment under its purchasing and refund rules.

A purchase is not a reusable balance, entitlement or transferable credit. If a verified purchase has not yet been redeemed and the Host deletes the account, POVE does not transfer, restore, refund or turn it into an Event; non-personal transaction evidence may be retained to prevent reuse. Statutory rights and Apple's applicable refund process are not limited by these terms.

Treat each invitation link or QR code as private. A person who obtains a valid link may be able to see limited Event details and join while access remains available. Share it only with intended participants. Do not publish, sell, scrape, guess, or misuse invitation values.

Access can end when an invitation is revoked, an Event is deleted, a participant is restricted, or the service cannot verify the Event or participation. Knowing an Event identifier or link does not grant ownership or permission to bypass POVE’s access controls.

You keep any ownership or other rights you have in photos, covers, Event names, display names and other content you submit. POVE does not receive a right to use your Event content for advertising, generative AI training or unrelated promotion merely because you submit it.

You give POVE a limited permission to host, copy, create practical display versions of, transmit, protect and show that content only as needed to operate the Event, provide the Memory to authorized people, maintain the service, and carry out deletion or moderation actions. This permission lasts only as long as needed for those purposes, subject to limited technical, security or legal retention where applicable.

Submit content only when you have the rights and permissions needed to do so. Respect the privacy, image, confidentiality, data-protection and intellectual-property rights of people shown in or connected with the content.

An invitation is not consent to photograph every person or to reuse a photo outside the Event. Hosts and participants remain responsible for obtaining any consent or permission their circumstances require.

Do not use POVE to:

• break the law or encourage unlawful or dangerous conduct;
• threaten, harass, exploit, deceive or violate another person’s privacy;
• submit content you do not have the right or permission to submit;
• distribute sexual exploitation material, non-consensual intimate imagery, credible threats or other seriously harmful content;
• probe, bypass or interfere with authentication, private media, invitation, rate-limit or access controls;
• introduce malicious code, automate abusive traffic, scrape private Events or disrupt the service; or
• impersonate another person or misrepresent your authority.

Reporting a photo records a concern and can hide it from the reporter’s own view; it does not automatically delete the photo for everyone. A Host can separately begin removing a photo from the shared Event. A Host can also restrict a participant within that Event and may choose to remove that participant’s existing Event photos.

POVE may preserve limited information where needed to investigate abuse, protect people or the service, comply with law, or establish or defend legal claims. POVE is not an emergency-monitoring service. If anyone faces immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency service.

The app provides separate actions to begin removing a photo, request deletion of a Host-owned Event, request deletion of a participant’s Event data, request deletion of the current POVE identity and associated data, or clear local app data. Clearing local data alone does not delete server-held Event data and can remove access tied to the device session.

A remote deletion request begins removal of the relevant data from POVE, subject to limited technical, security, rights-protection or legal retention where applicable. POVE cannot remove copies another participant saved to Photos, shared through another service, or kept outside POVE.

POVE may be interrupted by device conditions, networks, maintenance, security measures or service-provider failures. Upload, Reveal, notification and media delivery can therefore take time or fail. Local scheduled reminders are conveniences and are not guaranteed to arrive.

Do not use POVE as the only permanent copy of an important photo or record. Authorized users can save or share revealed photos where the product permits, and should keep any separate copy they need.

POVE depends on services that provide app distribution, device features, hosting, network delivery, authentication, database operations and private media storage. Your use of Apple devices, the App Store, Photos, notifications, sharing destinations and other independent services is also subject to their terms and policies.

These terms govern the POVE service. They do not replace Apple’s terms or create a custom Apple end-user licence agreement.

POVE may revise these terms when the service or applicable requirements change. The revision date appears at the top. If a change materially affects current use, it should be presented in a way appropriate to the service before it takes effect.
